Event description

Description

Join the Medina County Women's Endowment Fund as we celebrate philanthropy in the community during our Seasons of Giving event.

During the event, we will honor an outstanding female role model for giving to others in Medina County and recognize our 2020 grant recipients. Last year, our fund awarded $23,325 to nine local nonprofit organizations that support women and children in Medina County.

This year's featured speaker is Dawn Kendrick, Emmy Award-winning television journalist and creator of the multi-media storytelling platform, The Good Stuff by Dawn. The Good Stuff by Dawn highlights educational, inspirational and encouraging stories of goodwill in greater Cleveland. The heartwarming, pay-it-forward segment has been featured on local and national media outlets, including WKYC Cleveland, NBC Nightly News and USA Today.

Kendrick is active in her community and has served on several boards for organizations including A Special Wish Cleveland, Heroes for Andy, Super Heroes To Kids In Ohio, and the Emily Jerry Foundation. She is also a supporter of the Ohio Innocence Project and Public Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) of Ohio.

The fund will also welcome Kristin Gambaccini, founder of the popular lifestyle blog, Perfectly DeStressed, as its event emcee. Gambaccini is a contributor to TODAY’s Parenting Team and Food Club and her work has been featured on several local news outlets.

Sponsorship opportunities for this event are now available. General admission tickets will go on sale in April. To receive an invitation, register for the Medina County Women’s Endowment Fund’s e-news at www.akroncf.org/MCWEFnews or contact Heather Frey at medinacountyWEF@gmail.com.

Proceeds from this event support our mission of providing grants to nonprofits that create opportunities for the educational, physical, emotional, social, artistic and personal growth of women and children. To date, our fund has invested more than $190,000 back into Medina County. Learn more at www.medinawomensendowment.org.

The Medina County Women’s Endowment Fund is a fund of Akron Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity.
