Executive Chef Kevin Cuddihee and Head Bartender Graham Crowe of TWO(1132 W. Grand Ave.) are hopeful that the “third time is a charm” as they host the spring installment of Seasonal Slam. On Sunday, May 31, Barrelhouse Flat Chef Aurelius Black and Bar Manager Mark Brinker will try to barrel their way through the TWO tag team. During the event, guests become epicurean judges, voting for the best dish and cocktail per course. Plate magazine Editor Chandra Ram emcees the event and has selected the ingredients that each chef and mixologist must feature in this culinary face-off: rhubarb, radish, and peas. The restaurant team with the most votes at the end of the dinner will be crowned winner.

The evening begins with a festive cocktail reception at 5 p.m., with the seated dinner to start at 6:30 p.m.

TWO is the quintessential Midwestern restaurant, drawing inspiration from butcher shops, and local farms to create a comfortable neighborhood gathering place. The name is a nod to the restaurant's usage of second-life decor, repurposing materials throughout the Midwest to give the space a rural, farm-inspired ambiance. The philosophy sets the perfect backdrop for the sustainable, locally derived cuisine coming out of the kitchen. The menu by Executive Chef Kevin Cuddihee changes regularly, so as to incorporate and highlight seasonal ingredients at their peak. Influenced by the tradition of family-run butcher shops, TWO sources from reputable, small Midwestern farms and crafts its own sausages, bacon, and jerky, as well as pasta, ice cream, and much more.
