SEP 28th "Games People Play" • The theme is tonight is “games people play” and that covers a lot of ground – from tennis to trash talking; from baseball to backstabbing. Mind games to zero-sum games - all human beings play games. Win, lose or draw; bat, ball or special shoes – if you’ve played any game, there is a story. Bring it.
OCT 26th "Near Death" The theme is tonight is “near death” and if you have ever been, there is a story. Bring it. We use death as a metaphor too… We often say ”I almost died…” from fright, embarrassment, or excitement. Wikipedia says: “The scientific community considers the near death experience ( NDE) to be a hallucination caused by various neurological factors such as cerebral anoxia, hypercarbia, abnormal activity in the temporal lobes or brain damage. Whilst some parapsychologists and NDE researchers have pointed to them as evidence for an afterlife and mind-body dualism.”
NOV 23rd "Culture Shock" The theme is tonight is "culture shock" and that covers a lot of ground. If you have lived globally come and tell locally. All human beings have a culture, whether they acknowledge it or not. From the differences between micro-cultures within a culture like your family and a neighbor's family, or between Roslindale and JP, or Boston and New York or, while on "the fast track from LA to Tokyo". Where there are people, there is culture and whenever two cultures meet, there is a story. Bring it.
