Event description
Make your dives count! Get involved in the UKs biggest and best marine conservation project!

About this Event

Calling all scuba divers... record the marine life you see and give a new purpose to your diving.

Seasearch is a national project which trains experienced divers to record the wildlife they see on their dives. It gives additional purpose to your diving and is great fun as well as providing vital infomation for our conservation work.

This is a two day course aimed at giving divers new to the project an introduction to the Seasearch programme. It is suitable for those who are already good at marine species Id and for those who are total beginners. At the end of the course you will be able to complete the Seasearch Observation Form to a level suitable to make the infomation you record really count, and take part in Seasearch dives either on your own, with your club or on dives organised by Seasearch partners.

Cost - £60 per person ( Includes 20% Vat)

There will be a full day of indoors training in the classroom on the Saturday and on the Sunday we will head out and complete your first two Seasearch dives (both will be shore dives). You will need to bring your own equipment for these dives. Due to the nature of shore dives twinsets and rebreathers are not recommended.

We usually only run one of these courses per year so please don't miss your chance! Book up now!

The course will be held at Cornwall Wildlife Trust offices, at Allet, Near Truro and dives will be carried out on either the north or south coast depending on weather. The course will be taught by Marine Biologists and seasearch tutors Matt Slater, Caz Waddell, and Trudy Russell.

Seasearch is always great fun, a great way to meet like minded divers, a great way to improve your knowledge and many of our divers become addicted to seasearching! Once qualified you are able to join dives all around the UK and the experience really helps if you are looking at developing a career in marine conservation or underwater photography.

Please note that for all Seasearch diving with Cornwall Wildlife Trust you must meet the following requirements:
