Event description

Description

It's getting close to that time again! Join World Fisheries Trust's Seaquaria Ocean Education team and Northwest Aquatic Marine Educators (NAME BC) in sharing and developing science based, ocean literacy education resources. If you are a Seaquaria teacher or are interested in incorporating more ocean literacy activities into your classroom, this workshop is for you!

Seaquaria Ocean Education will present new education resources for teacher feedback and facilitate a sharing session of ocean and climate change themed education resources.

Four teacher presenters from various levels of education will present how they incorporate Seaquaria and ocean related activities into their classroom, followed by lunch, group breakouts and brainstorming of new lesson plans to promote science literacy, and a canoe ride of the Gorge to the Gorge Waterway Nature House.

Our new resources will be centered around climate change and the ocean, and will be available in their finalized form for teachers to make use of during Science Literacy week September 16-22 and year round on our website, www.seaquaria.org.

Resources for all age groups are welcome.

Coffee and lunch will be provided.

Schedule and presenters TBD.
