Event description
Come join us for a morning or afternoon viewing elephant seals at the peak of the breeding season.

About this event

  • View hundreds of northern elephant seals at the peak of the breeding season
  • Spend over three hours in the preserve enjoying the trails and premier elephant seal viewing areas at your own pace.
  • Consult with the team of volunteer naturalists and California State Park interpreters and rangers who will be stationed throughout the preserve to safely direct you through the dunes to the best viewing areas, interpret the colony drama unfolding on the beach, and answer any questions you might have about the seals and the park.

Choose one of four half day options to fit your schedule:

- 8:30 AM - 12 PM Saturday

- 1:30 PM - 5 PM Saturday

- 8:30 AM - 12 PM Sunday

- 1:30 PM - 5 PM Sunday

Each session has a limited number of tickets. (We are limited due to volunteer docents and park staff being stationed out where the seals are so everyone has room to navigate around the colony.)

We are holding this event under COVID Compliance constraints. Therefore, regardless of vaccination status, masks will be required in the Preserve when social distancing is not possible.

See our Seal Adventure Webpage for more Information.
