Event description

Description

Seabirding and Pelagic Boat Trip in Cape Ann, Mass.
March 1 (4 pm) to March 3 (5 pm)
$425 ($75 single supplement)

Cape Ann, Massachusetts, is a worldwide destination for winter birds and birders. We'll depart NBNC on Friday evening and overnight in Gloucester, MA. On Saturday, we’ll head out on a pelagic boat trip to one of New England’s most productive marine habitats, the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary. With expert pelagic guides, we'll search for hard-to-find offshore regulars like Razorbills, Dovekies, Common and Thick-billed Murres, Black-legged Kittiwakes, Atlantic Puffins, Scoters, and maybe even Skuas.

Our search then continues from land on Saturday afternoon as we canvas the coastline for Iceland and Glaucous Gulls, King Eiders, Purple Sandpipers, Harlequin Ducks, and much more. Sunday morning includes even more coastal birding around Cape Ann and nearby Plum Island. We arrive back in Montpelier on Sunday late afternoon. Led by NBNC staff naturalist Sean Beckett. Sign up early - space is limited!

Fee: $425 (single occupancy is an additional $75). Includes all lodging, all transportation, boat registration fees, shared spotting scopes.
