The Oregon coast is well know for its amazing sea stacks. Bandon offers the highest concentration of sea stacks on the Oregon coast including the mysterious and majestic Face Rock.
This workshop will also visit some very special venues including Cape Blanco, Cape Arago, Shore Acres, and Sunset Beach.
I’ve planned this workshop at a time when the Milky Way will be positioned over the sea stacks (sky conditions permitting). I will provide detailed instructions (written and in the field) on how to successfully photograph the stars.
You will learn to see more creatively through your camera, and how to use the camera as a tool. You will be given opportunities to experiment with composition, how to choose the right lens, and the importance how shutter speed and aperture affect an image and are used for creative effects. Most importantly, you will discover the different properties of natural light and how it affects your photographs.
We’ll kick off the workshop with a meet and greet reception in Bandon at The Sunset Motel. I will present a slide show and discuss issues related to successfully photographing the environment. The workshop will be spent in the field taking photographs.
We will be up early each day for sunrise and up late for sunset photography. We will have breaks each day to help re-energize ourselves.
