Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Participating in and facilitating meetings are a really important part of being in activist groups like SDS. We're really lucky to have a great friend of the group offer to put on a free training for SDS and other anti-border activist groups to help us think through what meetings should be like, how to facilitate successful meetings and how we can be confident participating in meetings.

In this training we'll cover:

  • what goes well and wrong in meetings
  • what makes a great facilitator
  • agendas and planning
  • facilitating 'difficult behaviour'
  • holding space for people
  • consensus decision-making

It will be from 11am-5pm at SOAS.

You can arrive from 10.30 and get tea/coffee etc, but we will be starting *at* 11 (and need to leave promptly at the end because we have to leave the room) so please try to be on time! :)

We will have a 30 minute break for lunch at 1pm - if you could bring something to share with the group, that would be great..

There will be breaks throughout the session, and the agenda will be sent out before the training.

If you have any specific access requirements just let me know and I will do my best to meet your needs in the space.
