A free celebration of community writing and story telling at Chapter One Books, Lever Street Manchester, M1 1BY.

Join us for Scribble Festival, Tell Us Another One and Cartwheel Arts annual literature celebration. Inviting members of the public to come join us during Sunday afternoon for a day of creative writing workshops, live readings with some great artists from the North West and a chance to get your work published, followed by an evening of live music, a Poetry Slam with a cash prize and a poetry reading from our star guest. Monday's morning session is an opportunity for writers and organisations to network and connect. We will be having panel discussions followed by speed networking and lunch.
You must get seperate tickets for the day time and evening activities.
Day Time from 1.30pm - 5pm
Expect Q&A sessions and live performances with award-winning writer Sarah-Clare Conlon who has had short stories published by Salt, Comma, and many more. She is currently Literature Editor of Creative Tourist. She wil be joined by acclaimed writer David Gaffney, the Guardian said: 'One hundred and fifty words by Gaffney are more worthwhile than novels by a good many others.' If you're lucky enough you will also be able to join their Flash Fiction Workshop. You can also try your hand at poetry with performance poet, radio presenter and DJ, Chris Jam, and home in your songwriting skills with singer songwriter Claire Mooney, 7 albums to her credit, comissioned by the Lowry and BBC Radio Manchester, and musical Director for Gaskel the musical. Other activities include zine making and publishing your work on the MacGuffin Platform.

Please bear in mind the sessions are on at the same time, so you can only choose one. After the worshops we will congregate togther and if you feel confident enough you can share your work.

Evening session from 6-8pm
Hear poetry from our star guest Roger Robinson , award-winning writer, musician and performer, chosen by Decibel as one of the 50 writers who have influenced the Black writing canon. There will also be live music from Family Ranks tipped as the future of Electronic Hip Hop, and described by BBC Radio 6's Tom Robinson as 'life affirming music". You can even take part in our Poetry Slam for a £50 prize, hosted by performance poet Chris Jam.

A morning of great conversation and a chance for writers and different stakeholders to network, connect and collaborate.
