Description

Overview

Are you one of those people who have thought, “I’d like to write a screenplay someday, but I don’t know how to start”? If yes, then this is the course for you! All you need is a creative idea and a computer to capture those ideas.

Excited?

I hope so! In this course you'll spend six sessions exploring the ins and outs of screenwriting from an instructor with experience in the field, all while writing your very own screenplay! This course prioritizes screenwriting basics including: developing characters, outlines, correct formatting, building scenes, and more. Plus, you'll receive feedback on your writing from workshop members and the instructor, as well as advice on delivering pitches, various writing techniques, and more!

As a final product, each participant will complete an outline and several scenes for their screenplay.

Participants should come prepared with a story idea they’d like to write, whether it’s notes on a paper napkin or even if they have already taken a crack at a script.

The instructor for the workshop is Abigail K. Perry.
