Event description
"Screen/Plays" LGBTQ+ Theater Festival CONTINUES Online Each Wednesday Night at 8 pm, through Wednesday, June 30, 2021

About this event

NOW EXTENDED!

EACH WEDNESDAY NIGHT AT 8 PM, THROUGHOUT JUNE/PRIDE MONTH!

African-American Collective Theater (ACT) of Washington, DC opens its 29th season with “Screen/Plays” the latest installment of its annual Black LGBTQ+ Theater Showcase.

As the name suggests, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the festival is once again being presented online via Zoom, as it was in 2020.

“Screen/Plays” features a talented cast of 32 DC-area performers in nightly readings of 12 original short plays by ACT Founding Artistic Director, Alan Sharpe.

The event -- NOW EXTENDED THROUGH JUNE 30TH -- has become a spring tradition over the decades and is presented annually to further ACT’s mission to present theater and film projects that center and increase visibility for the African-American LGBTQ+ Community.

Although suggested donations begin at $10 to support the ongoing work of ACT, the screenings are FREE -- with advance registration via Eventbrite required.

Only ONE registration needed per participant for the entire festival!

Registrants will receive private Zoom links and passwords for the festival, via e-mails, each remaining Wednesday afternoon during June/Pride Month 2021.

To register and attend, click on the green "TICKETS" box, on the right.
