Event description

Description

On September 11, BHS will exhibit Wolfgang Staehle’s work, “2001” – a dual channel video work that captured, tragically, the approach and impact of hijacked planes Flight 11 and Flight 175. Days prior, Staehle had set up unmanned webcams in Brooklyn for a project conveying the predictable normalcy of life. Instead, those cameras chronicled the transformation of a routine workday into a city under siege.

In collaboration with the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, BHS will be screening this work in real-time throughout the day, free to the public.

Presentation of this program is made possible through the generous support of 9/11 Memorial Museum Presenting Sustainer Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund.

Following the day-long screening of Staehle’s “2001,” join a panel of writers whose works of fiction and non-fiction focus on our shared experience of the attacks, as they discuss the power of their craft to process, document, and bring understanding. Learn more.
