The Watchmaker

Length: 9 minutes

Director: Marie-Cécile Embleton

Released: 2016

Description:

Documentary Short

A poetic portrait of an Iranian watchmaker, whose philosophical musings on craft invite us to reflect on how we engage with time in a fast-paced world. Moving between his colorful pared-down home and the streets and windswept marshes of East London, we discover the horologist's ascetic and beautiful private world.

The Price of Everything

Length: 1 hour 39 minutes

Released: 2018

Director: Nathaniel Kahn

Description:

With unprecedented access to pivotal artists and the white-hot market surrounding them, The Price of Everything dives deep into the contemporary art world, holding a mirror up to our values and our times — where everything can be bought and sold.

Exploring the labyrinth of the contemporary art world, The Price of Everything examines the role of art and artistic passion in today’s money-driven, consumer-based society. Featuring collectors, dealers, auctioneers and a rich range of artists, from current market darlings Jeff Koons, Gerhard Richter and Njideka Akunyili Crosby to one-time art star Larry Poons, the film exposes deep contradictions as it holds a mirror up to contemporary values and times, coaxing out the dynamics at play in pricing the priceless.

The Price of Everything premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and was produced by Jennifer Blei Stockman and Debi Wisch for Hot & Sunny Productions and Carla Solomon for Anthos Media. Lisa Remington and Kayla Malahiazar acted as co-producers. The film is edited by Sabine Krayenbühl, with additional editing by Phillip Schopper and Brad Fuller. Lensing is by Bob Richman and music is by Jeff Beal.
