Event description

Description

Please join the Family Lives On Foundation for a special screening of the classic film "Brian's Song,’ the story of the friendship between Chicago Bears players Brian Piccolo and Gale Sayers and how that friendship was affected when Piccolo contracted a terminal disease.

Our special guest for the evening is Brian's daughter, Lori Piccolo, who will share with you her personal story, feelings on growing up without her father, and how her story became her strength. Lori joined with Family Lives On as a national advocate after learning of their Tradition Program.

The Tradition Program offers grieving children the opportunity to continue a tradition or activity that they used to do with the parent they lost. This holistic approach to healthy grieving has been changing the lives of grieving children for over 20 years.

Lori hopes that by spreading awareness of the need for grief intervention following the death of a parent, more children will be able to not only survive but thrive following the trauma of a parent's death.

Refreshments and appetizers will be served. The film will begin promptly at 6:45 p.m. A meet and greet with Lori immediately following.
