Join the Blue Ridge Abortion Fund and the New River Abortion Access Fund for a screening of the documentary Birthright: A War Story and a talk-back panel. Birthright follows the stories of people seeking abortions and the multi-level government repression they face, which creates what filmmaker Civia Tamarkin calls, “a public health crisis,” turning pregnant people into criminals.
A talk-back panel will follow the film featuring local reproductive health providers and advocates, as well as members of the Blue Ridge Abortion Fund and New River Abortion Access Fund.
The Blue Ridge Abortion Fund has been helping people in Southwestern and Central Virginia pay for their abortion procedures for the last 30 years. The New River Abortion Access Fund is a grassroots organization located in the New River Valley of Virginia. NRAAF provides financial assistance, transportation, and lodging for anyone living in or traveling to Southwest Virginia who cannot afford to pay for abortion care.
In this intense political climate, now is a great time to come learn about how you can support your local abortion funds!
