The Wells Fargo IMAX Theatre at Marbles is pleased to present Abandoned Allies, a documentary film about the Montagnard people and U.S. Special Forces soldiers who fought together during the Vietnam War.

Abandoned Allies explores the relationship between the Montagnards and U.S. Special Forces soldiers who fought together during the Vietnam War. Many Montagnards were loyal American allies, and saved countless lives in the jungles of Vietnam during the war.
What was life like for Montagnards before the war began? How did the U.S. Special Forces soldiers (also known as Green Berets) work with them? What has happened in the 40+ years after the war ended?
Run time: approx. 60 minutes.
About the Montagnards
The word Montagnard has French origins, but often refers to who come people from the mountains of Vietnam (also known as the central highlands). There are 30 different Montagnard tribes, and each tribe has its own language and customs.
About the Director
This is the directorial debut for Camden Watts (@cammicam), who also produced and edited the film. She was introduced to the subject matter by Surry Roberts, who served two tours in Vietnam with the Green Berets and still works closely with Montagnards in North Carolina.
