Description

To commemorate the 2018 International Human Rights Day, the Embassy of France is pleased to invite you to the screening of :

Lindy Lou, Juror Number 2

French director Florent Vassault’s documentary follows a juror who sentenced a man to death and tries to contend with her decision several decades later. Determined to understand the overwhelming regret that she has been grappling with for years, Lindy takes off on a road trip across Mississippi to track down and learn more about her fellow jurors tasked with deciding the fate of a man’s life all those years earlier.

Online registration required. No walk-ins.

The screening will be followed by a conversation with:

Ngozi Ndulue, Director of Research and Special Projects at The Death Penalty Information Center

Cliff Johnson, Director of the MacArthur Justice Center at the University of Mississippi

Kristina Roth, Senior Program Officer for Criminal Justice Programs at Amnesty International USA


Program of the evening:

6.30 pm – 6.35 pm: Welcoming remarks

6.35 pm – 8 pm: Screening of Lindy Lou Juror Number 2

8 pm – 8.45 pm: Panel discussion and Q&A session

1) When do the doors open at the Embassy?

The doors for this event will open at 6 pm.

2) What do I need to enter the Embassy?

You will need a valid photo ID

3) Can I park in the Embassy parking lot?

Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate visitors in the Embassy parking lot. However, there is substantial space to park on the Embassy's street, Reservoir Road.

4) Are there any items that are not allowed at the Embassy?

Yes. Please be advised that for security reasons, Embassy staff and security services cannot allow large bags or backpacks to be brought onto Embassy grounds. Any large bags will be confiscated at the entrance gate before the owner can be granted entry.
