Event description

Description

Please join us at Friends School’s North Campus on January 31, 2019 at 6:00pm for a special screening of “Hallways of Hope", an IndieFlix documentary about the impact of art on students and their community.

Art happens. The hallways at Dixon Elementary Public School in Chicago are filled with museum-like art collections. Led by art teacher Joy Parham, students are able to connect history and today’s news in spoken word poetry through their art. Join us to view this film and discuss the impact of art in schools with Friends art teacher Bryn Pennington and learn how Friends creates art that reflects and resonates.

This event is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, however space is limited.

Please RSVP by 1/29.

This film is intended for parents, caregivers, educators, and students 5th grade and older. Students must be accompanied by an adult. Please note that this event takes place at Friends School's NORTH Campus (middle school) at 3800 Kalmia Avenue.
