Event description

Description

It's winter, it's almost Christmas so take a break from the holiday chaos and join us for an evening of awesome film shorts!

The Screaming Ostrich is proud to present our first ever Pop-Up film festival, to be held at the Capital Theatre in Arlington. Our lineup is subject to change, we are definitely going to be adding some names but so far it looks like we'll be screening works from a troupe of pre famous teens, directed by Brendan Egan and featuring the power of Jack Brunault. Joining them should be:

Stolen: A remarkably mature piece for a first work, Ian Vardy sends us this one all the way from Canada.

El Terrifico: The master work of John Hartman, El Terrifco could be described as a more tasteful verson of an early John Waters production, though Mr. Hartman might be surprised to hear the word "tasteful" applied to his film.

Billy Barnum: A legendary street performer, eccentric, poet; we lost Billy Barnum only recently. Here, another Boston showman, Mick Cusinano, cobbles together various clips spanning some years to present a retrospective on our lost bard.

Music by the Grave Dancers: We couldn't book a venue that allowed for live performances so enjoy The Grave Dancers, featuring rock composer extraordinaire Matthew Gilbert, almost live on screen!
