Description

Learn how to use Scratch Jr. with families in this 2-hour interactive workshop! Get hands-on practice with Scratch Jr. and hear about how to implement Scratch Jr. in your TGH course!

Location: Parent University / Sonny Walker Computer Center, 21 Deckard St, Boston, MA 02121 (Please use the Parent University entrance). Parking is available in the school's lot.

About the facilitator: Mollie Elkin is a Digital Production Coordinator at WGBH. Her current projects include developing math and science apps for preschoolers, as well as designing and running workshops for Boston-area families around the PBS KIDS ScratchJr app. Her previous experience includes research and development of new technologies for early childhood settings at the DevTech Research Group at Tufts University. During her time there, she developed and taught STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) curricula to children ages 3 to 8 across Massachusetts, created and piloted family events around technology for young children and their families, and lead professional development workshops for teachers interested in implementing technology and engineering into their Pre-K-2 classrooms. Mollie received both her Master’s Degree and Bachelor’s Degree from the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Study and Human Development at Tufts University.
