Summit is a one-day conference that features a wide variety of speakers, activities, and entertainment. It is held at the university campus of an active SCPASA member organization and this year it will be hosted by Cal Poly Pomona, Barkada and PASK.

Numerous workshops are held throughout the day to give attendees various opportunities to learn about topics around a common theme chosen for that year.

This year’s theme is “Tiwala”! It is an essential Pilipinx value being passed down from generation to generation. Coming from various communities, provinces, and regions of the Philippines, our identities and families have different facets of being Pilipinx that need to be discussed and celebrated.

Our Featured Speakers:

Joseph Allen Ruanto Ramirez | University of California, San Diego’s Kaibigang Pilipin@ and SPACES

Kirk Acam and Kaithleen Apostol | Growing Up Productions

Romeo Marquez Jr. | Kollective Hustle.

This year, we wanted to focus on the idea of trust and faith because we want to acknowledge and honor the resistance our ancestors went through to allow their children and descendants to embody their hopes and dreams for a better future.

We hope that through this engagement of how to collectively build trust and faith with one another, Pilipinxs would be able to understand and critically engage with discourses about the Pilipinx identity and build solidarity between generations. Today, Pilipinxs must be able to build trust in one another to strengthen our relationships as a community.

What you put into this space is what you will get out of it.

So please save the date and spread the word!
