Description

The annual Boy Scout Clay Shoot will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Oak Creek Sporting Club near Brainard, Nebraska. Participants have the opportunity to participate in the morning Sporting Clays competition and stay for lunch and the afternoon trap shoot with youth and adults.

In honor of Duane Daake, long time Cornhusker Council volunteer, passionate Scouter, and former chairperson of this event, a portion of the proceeds from this event toward a college scholarship named for Duane.

Schedule for the Day

8:30-9:30am Sporting Clay Check-in
9:30am - 12:00 Sporting Clays and Shooting Games
12:00-1:00pm Lunch and Check-in for Trap Shoot
1:00-3:00pm Trap Shoot for Youth and Adults

About the Duane Daake Memorial Scholarship - A Scholarship to help a youth go on to higher education.

Scholarship Eligibility - Preference will be given to an applicant who meets the following criteria

  • Participates in the shoot

  • Is a currently registered and active in a Scouting program

Scholarship Application and Selection

  • For more information and to download the scholarship form go to www.CornhuskerCouncil.org/Clays

  • The size of the scholarship is dependent upon the available (approximatly $500) proceeds from the Scout Shooting Clays.

  • Selection of the award recipient will be final and made based on the preference of the Daake Family and the Cornhusker Council, BSA.

All forms will be gathered and reviewed immediately after the event announcement of the recipient by August 31.
