About Scotty Williams...

As the local bars were making last call in Chicago on the early morning of October 14, 1961 a child was born and he would be named Scotty. Even though he was born a city slicker his country roots were sown deep in his soul as he listened to albums of classic artists and watched his father perform with country music great “Faron Young.” Scotty would immolate his fathers moves as he played air guitar in the wings and had visions of one day sharing the stage with him and sharing the love of music together. At the age of nine, Scotty’s mother suddenly passed away and led him into a dark abyss that would later reflect in his songs later on in life. He would accompany his father to all his shows and would fall asleep to the sounds of fiddle and steel guitars in smoke filled honky tonks that carried the scent of spilled beer and cheap whiskey. By the age of fourteen Scotty found himself in foster care bouncing through homes and boy centers until one family took him in and gave him a home and a scene of stability. He played sports until an unfortunate car accident that would not allow him to participate in his sport activities. With no other hobbies, his foster parents asked what they could do to help. He asked if they could buy him a guitar and chord book. Before too long he would be performing music at his foster family’s barbeque's and functions. As Scotty continued his musical plight, he would cut classes in high school just to sign out a guitar from the music room and sit in the hall and learn new songs and critique his playing. One evening at a local bar, Scotty and his friends were exercising their fake ID and drinking beer and listening to a solo acoustic show. After being encouraged by his friends to ask the performer to sing a song, Scotty found himself in the spotlight. After performing a few songs he was askedby the management to perform two nights a week. As word got around about an inspiring young man playing at a local bar, Scotty would venture out and begin a journey to bigger and more promising venues with his sights set on Nashville.

In 2010 Scotty made the move to Nashville. Starting out sitting in with bands on Broadway, he quickly established shifts of his own performing with bands and solo shows. Within two months he found himself performing up to eighteen shows a week on Broadway and surrounding areas. After keeping up with the pace for five years he started to pick and choose local venues and started touring on the road opening for various contry music artists. This would open the doors to many opportunities to share his music with new friends and collaborate with country greats. Later on down the road he ran into Garth and as they were bantering music garb Scotty struck up a dialog regarding putting a “Garth Tribute Show” together and tour. After asking Garth if he would have to pay residuals or anytype of royalties Garth slapped his back and said “ Hell no man! Hope you make a million bucks!” After receiving Garth’s blessings he formed what is know today as “The Garth Experience”. He took his show on the road and you can still catch it today at a venue near you. You can also catch Scotty performing in Nashville on Broadway with bands or in a more quaint setting singing to the crowd with just his acoustic guitar. You can also catch him on the road promoting his new album “Simply Gray.” This album contains nine original songs written by Scotty along with his rendition of a Merle Haggard hit “ Today I Started Loving You Again.”
