RECRUITMENT, RETENTION AND REMUNERATION: How to ensure your People Strategy is fit for the future.

Why?

Attracting the right staff, in terms of skills and values match, is extremely challenging with it currently very much a candidate’s market. How do you get “the One” and, when you do, how do you satisfy their needs as well as your own? This is ever more challenging with a multi-generational workforce in place for the first time in history. How, too, do you offer family-friendly working while ensuring business needs are met? Getting this right can make your organisation. Getting it wrong can break it. BTA (Bruce Tait Associates), as specialist third sector consultants and market leaders in terms of charity/not-for-profit recruitment, have spent two years researching these areas and are offering you their expert insights. The course will be delivered by BTA Joint Chief Executives Bruce Tait and Abeer Macintyre. We will also have Family Friendly Working Scotland as guest presenters.

Is this course for you?

This course is designed for Chief Executives, HR Managers, departmental Directors and Trustees. The course is divided into three parts and will leave you with the tools you need to ensure your recruitment, retention and remuneration strategy is fit for the challenges of the 21st century.

BTA will reveal the findings of the Scottish Charity Workforce Salary Survey 2019. This has been the most detailed examination of third sector jobs ever undertaken as we have monitored every single charity job being advertised in Scotland over the past two years. It will reveal what the market tells you about the salary you need to offer to attract the right candidate. There are some surprises in there that you need to know! As the biggest recruiter to the sector in Scotland (bigger than everyone else put together) we will provide our expert analysis and recommendations on how to get it right.

Your workforce is increasingly likely to comprise of Baby Boomers through to Millenials. That’s five different generations. Our global research shows glaring differences between them in terms of talents, habits and expectations of their employer. This course is a “ must” if you are to engage with them at their level and get the best out of them, not to mention keep them with you.

The final session will be a workshop run by Family Friendly Working Scotland who will help ensure you create a flexible and family-friendly working culture. This is a way of working which delivers business success and enables working families to have a good balance between work and family life. They will offer practical support and share best practice while raising awareness of the issues and benefits around work-life balance and flexible, family-friendly working.
