Event description

The first Military Spouse Day was read by President Ronald Reagan May 23, 1984, to recognized the profound importance of a spouse’s commitment to the readiness and well-being of military members. The Secretary of Defense, Casper Weinberger, standardized the date by declaring the Friday proceeding Mother’s Day as Military Spouse Day. Since then, Congress officially made Military Spouse Appreciation Day part of National Military Appreciation Month in May in 1999 and military organizations have since dedicated the month of May to recognize military spouses and families.

Every year the SCNG's Service Member and Family Care Directorate celebrates spouses in different ways. This year there will be five (5) events held simultaneously throughout the state.

Rock Hill

Each event will be an opportunity for spouses to get together and enjoy an evening of Hors d'oeuvres, a few speakers, giveaways and great music.

The SWAG BAGS WILL BE RED CARPET WORTHY!!! Well....really cool gifts S.C. style. Each spouse will be given a swag bag with great giveaways and valuable SMFC information.

This is a fairly casual drop-in event, as we understand that some may be coming from work, so feel to come dressed in whatever makes you feel comfortable. If you are a Service Member accompanying a spouse, please come in civilian attire.

Our new Adjutant General spouse welcomes you to attend and looks forward to celebrating YOU!

**Childcare will not be provided at these events**
