SCLTC-Young Memorial New Student Orientation Spring 2017 #3 (01/10/2017)
NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION:Orientation programs for new students are conducted prior to each semester, including the summer session. The orientation program is designed to acquaint each new student with the college campus, academic programs, and support services. New students receive academic advising and complete registration for classes during orientation.
To attend an orientation program the new student must have been admitted to South Central Louisiana Technical College (SCLTC) and have placement scores on file (ACT, SAT, Compass, Etc.), prior to the day of the program. All first-time freshmen and transfer freshmen working toward a degree are expected to attend a New Student Orientation session.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION:Entrance testing and an Orientation Proagram must be completed before a student can schedule classes. BANNER (LoLA) is your official schedule. If your printout does not match your schedule on LOLA/ BANNER, the LoLA/BANNER schedule is your official schedule.
Check your test/placement scores in Banner. These scores as well as any transfer credit (if applicable) determine your placement in your program. If these scores are incorrect or incomplete, your placement could change. Contact Student Affairs or your Department Head with any questions or concerns.
STUDENT EMAIL FOR SCLTC: Upon registering for an SCLTC Campus in LoLA, Students have access to a student email account powered by Google for their personal use. This email account is to be used as your official means of communication for SCLTC purposes. Your login information is as follows:
