Description

"Scleral Lenses: Basic Fitting to Advanced Problem-Solving" with optional product-specific scleral lens workshop
COPE#

Join the Scleral Lens Education Society for a 2-hour COPE approved course, to include a comprehensive discussion of fitting and evaluation of scleral contact lenses. The course will include patient selection, pre-fitting diagnostic evaluation of the patient, specialized testing, initial diagnostic lens selection and evaluation, lens ordering, follow-up care, modification of the fit, problem-solving, specific care and handling of lenses and in-office management tips. Immediately following the CE lecture, attendees have the option of attending a product-specific non-CE scleral lens workshop hosted by Boston Sight.BostonSight is a non-profit eye healthcare organization that for 25 years has been known as Boston Foundation for Sight. It is the worldwide pioneer in the field of scleral lenses best known for creating the life-changing treatment for corneal disease sufferers, BostonSight PROSE treatment. (PROSE stands for prosthetic replacement of the ocular surface ecosystem.)

The workshop will feature BostonSight's new and first-ever, evidence-based, data-driven fitting system: BostonSight SCLERAL. BostonSight SCLERAL fitting system leverages six years of patient data from approximately 7000 eyes.

BostonSight SCLERAL offers the first fitting system with right- and left-eye anatomical designs. Available in 18.0mm, 18.5mm and 19.0mm diameter designs, it uses a single starting point regardless of a patient’s condition. BostonSight SCLERAL is also the first scleral lens to provide front-surface eccentricity options, including, a quadrant-specific toric peripheral haptic system. The innovations with BostonSight SCLERAL go, literally, beyond the fitting process. Practices will use BostonSight’s comprehensive, three-part program called Beyond the Fit™ for ongoing lens ordering and patient support.
FitConnect™ – an intuitive, Web-based fitting and order management system
FitAssist™ – a lens voucher program, which allows BostonSight SCLERAL practitioners to provide their patients with financial assistance
MyFitReport™ – a Patient-Generated Health Data (PGHD) program that provides practitioners with valuable patient-specific feedback

Goals and objectives:

  • Master application and removal
  • Learn to assess and troubleshoot scleral lens fittings
  • Learn to use lens design graphical representations to drive fit changes
  • Be empowered through knowledge and see how a lens design changes real-time based on modifications requested
  • Maximize efficiency in your practice

Lunch will be provided only to those attending the workshop.

Option 1: 2-Hour CE - 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 am

Option 2: Non-CE Workshop - 11:30am – 2:30 pm
