"Scleral Lenses: Basic Fitting to Advanced Problem-Solving" with optional product-specific scleral lens workshop
2 hours of Optometric CE has been approved by COPE
Join the Scleral Lens Education Society for a 3-hour COPE approved course, to include a comprehensive discussion of fitting and evaluation of scleral contact lenses. The course will include patient selection, pre-fitting diagnostic evaluation of the patient, specialized testing, initial diagnostic lens selection and evaluation, lens ordering, follow-up care, modification of the fit, problem-solving, specific care and handling of lenses and in-office management tips.
Immediately following the CE lecture, attendees have the option of attending a product-specific non-CE scleral lens workshop hosted by Art Optical Contact Lens, Inc. The hands-on workshop will introduce attendees to the advanced technology of a new scleral lens design. Attendees will be exposed to a comprehensive fitting experience that will include slit lamp examination using cross section evaluation, manipulation of the 4 independent zone controls, including the toric haptic periphery, an introduction to the use of quadrant specific control technology in the management of asymmetrical scleral/limbal topography, and utilization of the new center-near multifocal add option. Multiple methods of insertion and removal will also be demonstrated, providing attendees the practical skills required for easy and immediate practice implementation and scleral lens success. Lunch will be provided only to those attending the CE and Workshop.
