SCLC-GKC Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Mass Celebration

The 2022 MLK Mass Celebration is sponsored by The Southern Christian Leadership Conference of Greater Kansas City and hosted by Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church.

Our keynote speaker is Bishop Vashti Murphy McKenzie, the 117th elected and consecrated bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church. She currently serves as the presiding prelate of the 10th Episcopal District, where she provides leadership to all of the AME Churches in the entire state of Texas.

This event is being offered as an in-person and virtual celebration!

SCLC-GKC encourages you to register for both the in-person and on-line event. There will be seating for 250 people at the in-person event. All persons beyond our max of 250 are welcome to celebrate with us on-line: streamed live on the SCLC-GKC Facebook Page and the SCLC-GKC Website.

CDC and local Health Department protocols will be followed at the in-person celebration:

• Social distancing will be observed
• Masks will be required to be worn at all times
• Temperature checks will be taken at each entrance upon check-in

Parking is available in the parking lot of the church as well as on the street.
