Learn the secrets of 20th Century Fox composers Sean Callery (“24," “Homeland," “Bones," “Backstrom"), Fil Eisler (“Empire") and Mac Quayle ("American Horror Story: Freak Show") as they discuss how their scores intensify the action and drama of some the most popular shows on television. The panel will feature highlights from their hit shows, followed by an in depth discussion on their work and an audience Q&A.

The Society of Composers and Lyricists Seminar: An Evening with the Composers of 20th Century Fox Television - Fil Eisler Fil Eisler faithfully composes music that embodies both story and character.  His knack for writing instantly recognizable melodic themes, as well as his strength in production and orchestration, have rapidly become his signature.  His music can be heard on Fox’s mega hit drama series, “Empire,” starring Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson, ABC’s “Revenge,” starring Madeleine Stowe and Emily Van Camp, and Showtime’s Emmy-winning “Shameless,” starring William H. Macy, Emmy Rossum and Justin Chatwin.  Fil is also composing the music for Lifetime’s critically acclaimed new scripted series “UnReal,” which premiered at this year’s SXSW Festival.  Fil composed the music for two films being released in 2015: Indie Growing Up and Other Lies” and Sony’s “Kitchen Sink,” starring Bob Odenkirk, Vanessa Hudgens and Denis Leary.  Other film and television credits include songwriting for NBC’s “ER,” Lionsgate’s “My Best Friend’s Girl,” NBC’s “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip,” Universal’s “This Revolution” and FX’s “Thief.” 
Over the years, Fil’s scores have garnered critical acclaim on the film festival circuit.  He won Best Film Score for his music in Robbie Pickering’s “Natural Selection” at the 2011 SXSW Film Festival. The film was the most decorated of the festival, also winning the Grand Jury and Audience Awards.  In 2011, Fil was nominated as Discovery of the Year for the World Soundtrack Awards, which commemorate an excellent piece of musical work in the field of TV and movie soundtracks, for his work on “Natural Selection” and “The Hammer,” based on the inspiring life of deaf UFC fighter, Matt Hamill.  In addition, BMI has honored Fil with multiple awards for his work on “Empire,” “Revenge,” and “Shameless.”
Fil started his career as a touring musician, and he has traveled, recorded and written with artists, producers and composers as diverse as Robbie WilliamsRyan AdamsMarco BeltramiDave StewartImogen Heap,Jesse MalinKim CaldwellKylie MinogueBrian MayHolly Johnson, among many others. 
The Society of Composers and Lyricists Seminar: An Evening with the Composers of 20th Century Fox Television - Mac Quayle Mac Quayle GRAMMY® nominated musician, Mac Quayle has written music for over 30 films and television shows, and has accumulated a long list of credits as a music producer, dance re-mixer and multi-instrumentalist.  As a composer, Mac Quayle’s music was most recently heard on FX’s hit series “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” starring Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett.  Quayle’s 2015 is showing no signs of slowing, as he is currently working on Fox’s new highly anticipated horror-comedy anthology “Scream Queens,” starring Emma Roberts and Jamie Lee Curtis, as well as USA Network’s suspense-thriller “Mr. Robot,” starring Christian Slater, which premiered at this year’s SXSW Festival.  Mac will also be scoring the next season of “American Horror Story: Hotel,” starring Lady Gaga and Matt Bomer.  In addition to Mac’s television work, he has also composed music for a diverse list of feature films and documentaries.  His music for the documentary “Autism in Love” premiered at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival, and indie thriller “LA Slasher,” starring Mischa Barton premiered at the New York City International Film Festival.
Mac’s music as an additional composer for Cliff Martinez can also be heard in HBO’s Emmy-winning “The Normal Heart,” Film District’s Critic’s Choice Award-winning “Drive,” Warner Bros.’ “Contagion” and A24’s “Spring Breakers.”  In 2013, Mac was chosen as one of only six composers to participate in Sundance’s Music and Sound Design Lab at Skywalker Ranch. 
As a producer, re-mixer and keyboardist, Mac has worked on over 300 releases, 40 #1 Billboard Dance hits, and earned a GRAMMY® nomination for producing Donna Summer’s “I Will Go with You.”  Quayle has been awarded numerous Gold and Platinum records, as well as worked with some of the biggest names in the music business.  Mac has created music for Madonna, Whitney Houston, Depeche Mode, Britney Spears, Elvis PresleyAnnie Lennox, New Order, Beyonce and Sting, to name a few. 
The Society of Composers and Lyricists Seminar: An Evening with the Composers of 20th Century Fox Television - Sean Callery Sean Callery With a total of 13 Emmy® nominations and three wins under his belt, Sean Callery is one of the most Emmy-nominated composers of all time. Callery composes the music for hit series such as Showtime’s award-winning drama “Homeland,” CBS’s hit Sherlock Holmes inspired drama series “Elementary,” and Fox’s award-winning “24: Live Another Day,” “Backstrom,” and “Bones,” which is Fox’s longest-running procedural drama, renewed for an eleventh season. For Bones’ 200th episode, Sean and co-composers Jamie Forsyth and Julia Newmann worked with a live studio orchestra to create a 1950’s Hitchcock-inspired score. Callery recently won the Composer’s Choice Award for “2014 Composer of the Year” at the ASCAP Awards. 
Known for composing the suspense-driven scores on Fox’s hit series “24," Callery earned nine Emmy® nominations throughout the course of the show, which ran for nine seasons and included the 2008 TV movie “24: Redemption.” Of those nods, he won for Outstanding Music Composition three times. In 2013, Callery was nominated for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music for “Elementary,” and was recognized in the same category for “Homeland" in 2012. 
In 2011, Callery scored another Emmy® nod for “The Kennedys,” an eight-part mini-series that starred Greg Kinnear and Katie Holmes, and premiered worldwide on the Reelz Channel. In addition, Callery received the ASCAP Top Series honors for his work on “24," and has also been recognized with ASCAP honors for his work on the CBS drama “Medium," CBS’s “Elementary" and for Fox’s “Bones."  
Callery’s other TV projects include: Fox’s “The Finder,” Hulu’s 10-part series “The Confession,” CBS’ “Shark,” NBC’s “Treasure Hunters,” and many others.
