The Society of Composers and Lyricists Seminar: Composing Combos - Jeff Russo Jeff Russo Two-time GRAMMY® and Emmy-nominated musician Jeff Russo has become a prominent composer, songwriter and arranger in the film and television industry. Russo received an Emmy nomination in 2014 for his music on FX’s award winning hit series “Fargo,” and has already started writing for Fargo’s second season. Jeff also composes the score for Starz's original drama, “Power,” from executive producer, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, as well as CBS’s newest CSI franchise, “CSI: Cyber,” starring Patricia Arquette.  Working with cellist Zoë Keating, Jeff recently completed work on A&E’s horror series, “The Returned.”  Jeff is currently scoring Spike TV’s highly anticipated mini-series, “Tut,” starring Ben Kingsley, which premieres July 19th.
In addition to composing music for film and television, Russo still plays music with his rock band. He is a founding member, lead guitarist and co-songwriter of two-time GRAMMY® nominated, multi-platinum selling rock band, Tonic. Their debut album, "Lemon Parade," posted three singles in the U.S. Mainstream rock Charts' Top 10, with "If You Could Only See," rocketing to number one. In 2003, the band received two GRAMMY®-nominations, one for "Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal" for "Take Me As I Am," and one for "Best Rock Album."

The Society of Composers and Lyricists Seminar: Composing Combos - Zoe Keating Zoë Keating is a one-woman orchestra. She uses a cello and a foot-controlled laptop to record layer upon layer of cello, creating intricate, haunting and compelling music. Zoë is known for both her use of technology - which she uses to sample her cello onstage - and for her DIY approach, releasing her music online without the help of a record label.
Zoë's grassroots, label-less approach has garnered her much public attention and press. She was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and serves on the boards of the Magik Magik Orchestra and CASH Music, a nonprofit organization that builds open source digital tools for musicians and labels.

As a cellist, Zoë has played with a wide range of artists, including Imogen Heap, Amanda Palmer, Tears for Fears, DJ Shadow, Dan Hicks, Thomas Dolby, John Vanderslice, Rasputina, Pomplamoose and Paolo Nutini. She has collaborated with WNYC's Radiolab and lends her music regularly to film, tv, dance productions and commercials. In August 2014, she started composing for the A&E’s hit drama “The Returned” with Jeff Russo.
The Society of Composers and Lyricists Seminar: Composing Combos - James Levine James Levine Emmy nominated composer James Levine has established himself as a preeminent talent in television scoring. His diverse projects span across all genres, and have bolstered the success of many hit shows. At TNT, Levine is a household name, currently scoring “Rizzoli & Isles,” starring Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander, “Major Crimes,” starring Mary McDonnell, and the highly acclaimed “The Last Ship,” starring Eric Dane. For “The Last Ship,” Levine works with co-composer Jim Dooley to bring together dark tones and intense percussion to invigorate this hit post-apocalyptic military drama.

James has also composed the music for many other hit series including the first three seasons of FX's "American Horror Story" franchise, for which he received an Emmy nomination in 2014 for “AHS: Coven," "Nip/Tuck," starring Julian McMahon and Dylan Walsh, and "Damages," starring Glen Close and Rose Byrne, Fox's "Glee," starring Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, Jane Lynch and Matthew Morrison, TNT's "The Closer," starring Kyra Sedgwick, and USA Network's "Royal Pains," starring Mark Feuerstein and Paulo Costanzo. Since 2001, ASCAP and BMI have honored James with over 20 film and television music awards, including those for most performed underscore.

The Society of Composers and Lyricists Seminar: Composing Combos - Jim Dooley Jim Dooley is an Emmy-winning composer well known in film, television and video game circles. He is currently scoring the TNT drama “The Last Ship” alongside James Levine, for which he recently received an ASCAP award.  Dooley is most known for his Emmy-award winning work on ABC’s fantasy comedy-drama “Pushing Daisies,” starring Lee Pace.

Dooley has creatively impacted a diverse list of projects across all mediums and genres.  His music enlivened the dark comedy in FX’s cult favorite “Wilfred,” starring Elijah Wood, and heightened the emotions in Nicolas Sparks’ first TV movie, Lifetime’s “Deliverance Creek.” His other credits include: “Obsessed;  "When a Stranger Calls;" “Mockingbird Lane,” “Best Friends Forever,” "Neighbors from Hell;" and "Carmel," an independent film starring Hayden Panettiere, Lauren Bacall and Josh Hutcherson.  Dooley has also scored the hugely popular video games "Epic Mickey" & “Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two” for Disney, as well as "Infamous 2" and "SOCOM 3" for Sony.
