SciFi Wednesday - Design and 3D Print Space Tech with NASA (Parts 2, 3, & 4)**

**Make sure to sign up for each day!

Have you ever wondered how far humanity's reach extends into space? What are the technologies pioneers are using to push this boundary? What are other planets, moons and stars like? Join SAP Next-Gen and NASA experts in a four-part series where you will find out the answers to these questions and then use this knowledge and science fiction thinking to create the next generation of space tech that will revolutionize the way we live and explore the stars. You will hatch a plan for a space mission, create and design the SciFi-tech needed to complete the mission, and then even see it come to life when you learn to 3D print models of your tech. Who knows; maybe you can submit it to the NASA Space Apps Challenge!

Series Schedule:

Part I (6pm Wednesday - January 10th): Learn the basic skills needed to design 3D Printed objects. Join Ben Christensen for a 3D printing workshop where you can get a head start on learning the skills you will use to conceptualize, design and print the space tech you imagineer over the course of the series. Register for Part I here!

Part II (6pm Wednesday - January 17th): NASA Guest Speaker and SciFi Design Thinking. Hear from NASA official, Matt Pearce, about past, current and future NASA missions and efforts in STEM education. Learn where space technology is today and where it will be going in the near future. Then use science fiction design thinking to populate the future universe with fantastic technologies. Start thinking about missions that you will finalize in the next meetup.

Part III (6pm Wednesday - January 31st): NASA Guest Speaker, SciFi Storytelling for Mission and Tech Design. Use your new space knowledge and science fiction storytelling to design a future space mission (travel to another solar system or search for life in the oceans beneath the frozen surfaces of the gas giants' moons) and dream up the new tech (robots... warp drives... some really cool think we don't even know about.. you name it!) needed to equip the mission for success. Start early sketches and prototyping of your imaginings.

Part IV (6pm Wednesday - February 14th): 3D Print the Space Tech You Designed! Take the prototyping to the next level in which you will finalize your tech designs, and then model them on the computer so you can 3D print them. This is one of the first steps towards turning science ficition into science fact!

Sci-fi used to be about predicting the future, but now the future is here and the technology that was once an imagination is now a reality that is impacting businesses in all industries. We want to focus on the different technologies and dive deep into how we can use it today and in the future. Come join us in the discovery of sci-fi becoming a reality in SAP Leonardo Center NY. Join us now in the sci-fi world!
