Event description
Professor Naya will talk about scientific recruitment programs in Spain for international talent.

About this Event

In this event, we will discuss the possible opportunities for talent recruitment, through some of the current programs for the transition towards faculty positions at the UDC (Universidade da Coruña) and analyzing some of the European and Spanish tenure programs. The seminar will be focused on the program that the University of A Coruña has with INDITEX to recruit talent: the Intalent program, which has recruited six new researchers to join the university and is now starting a second stage. Candidates present a project proposal, and the selected and selected postdoctoral researchers are sponsored by Inditex to join UDC research for three years with a competitive salary. We will also talk about other recent programs such as the Beatriz Galindo program at an international level for the return of researchers to Spain or those programs for recruiting talent from the Xunta de Galicia.

Besides, there will be a presentation of other programs with Navantia, a Spanish state-owned shipbuilding company for both the military and civil sectors, the Shipyard 4.0. The UDC and Navantia created the joint Research Unit called "The Shipyard of the Future", initially funded by a competitive call of the Galician Research Agency for University-Industry research collaboration. This joint research unit aims to develop new techniques and technologies to increase the competitiveness of the shipyard and to face technical-industrial challenges.
