Event description

Description

Science on Tap events are informal discussions with local scientists and experts on a particular topic. Science on Tap is a program of the SEE Science Center. The ongoing series is held the first Tuesday of each month from October to June. The events are free, attendees are welcome to order from the food and beverage menus.

On June 4th out topic is ocean gas acoustics.

The ocean floor is one of the last areas for exploration on earth. Not only are scientists trying to map it, they are also researching how the ocean floor exchanges gasses with the water.
Much of this research is done acoustically and will help create better models of ocean chemistry. Discover how researchers are listening to bubbles to collect data as we discuss the process and applications of acoustical oceanography.
