This year The Lane School PTO will be hosting its’ third Elementary Science Olympiad Fun Night. The Science Olympiad is a national non-profit organization that is dedicated to improving the quality of K-12 science education with an emphasis on teamwork, and problem solving.
During Fun Night, students in teams of three or four, led by a parent volunteer, will rotate through a series of three half-hour events, each designed to meet age-appropriate skills and knowledge bases. Some of the experiments this year will include outside presenters such as Dupage Forest Preserve, Morton Arboretum, American Chemistry Society and Argonne National Laboratory.
This event relies heavily on parent volunteers, so there are plenty of opportunities for parents to be part of this fun, new event. There is also no preparation required on the part of the students, except for showing up ready to go at Fun Night.
You can volunteer to lead a student group by checking the box on this registration form or by using sign-up genius link below.
This event is only open to The Lane School students since it is paid for by the PTO.
