Join NMC and WWF in a session where we will hear about the outcomes of the Climate Action Summit and about the campaign Our Only Future, Business Ambition for 1.5°C. We will also hear from Scania, who recently committed to set 1.5°C science-based target. The company will explain how setting this type of target is good for their business and the challenges they faced before committing.

In September, UN Secretary-General António Guterres gathered leaders from government, business, and civil society to meet the urgent need to address climate change and achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement.

Climate action must increase three- to five-fold across the board, to keep warming below 1.5°C. This is the threshold beyond which, scientists say, the impacts of climate change will be devastating. We have only a couple of years to get the world back on track. We have the innovation, tools and expertise to make this happen — what we need now is leadership and action.

The business benefits of science-based climate action are clear. Leading companies are already proving that a 1.5°C-compliant business model is possible, and there is evidence that these companies will be best-placed to thrive as the global economy undergoes a just transition to a net-zero future by 2050.

This webinar is a follow up event from the March 2019 Science Based Target session co-hosted by NMC and WWF. The upcoming event is focusing on Scania's experience and reflections regrding their work with Science Based Targets.
