Event description

Description

You thought we had the Equal Rights Amendment?

It's been 100 years of voting and still women's rights are not equal to men . Women still experience gender pay gap, violence and assault, and gaps in poverty rates that are larger than anywhere else in the western world....

IF we had legal standing we could fight this together.

Come meet with us and let's get to work adding women's rights to the constitution. We will engage in postcarding, art activism, contacting senators and members of Congress, and contacting state and federal branches of the ERA groups to find out what other grass roots efforts we can take in Santa Cruz.

Dr Cherie Barkey, prof. of women's history at Cabrillo, and Gail Pellerin Santa Cruz County Clerk, and Maria Boutell, one of the founders of Santa Cruz Women’s March will speak briefly on the importance of the ERA.
