Late night tubing! Spend your final hours of 2016 with action packed tubing adventure complete with snacks, hot chocolate, Twinkie roasting bar, and an led wand to light your way with colors. It all takes place at the Hermit’s Hollow tubing center and yurt. When tubing concludes, head over to the clock tower for our complimentary sparkler celebration at midnight. What should I wear?
Dress for the arctic! Okay, maybe that’s extreme. But really, it can get pretty cold at night in Schweitzer village. Be sure to wear lots of layers including warm footwear that will keep your feet dry, a warm hat and thick gloves of course. Goggles, helmets and other warm accessories are encouraged.
Is there a place to take a break and warm up?
Yes, the Hermit’s Hollow yurt is located right at the top of the tubing hill. We will be serving hot chocolate and other snacks for when you need to come in from the elements. We’ll also have a campfire for you to cozy up around while you roast a treat.
Can my 8 year old go with their older sibling?
If the sibling is at least 18, then yes! Our attendants are doing their best to look out for everyone’s safety and need a little help in making sure your little ones are paying attention to all the rules.
Will there be alcoholic beverages?
‘Fraid not, the Hermit’s Hollow New Year’s party is family friendly and alcohol free. If you would like to have a drink on New Year’s, take a look at our 21+ party at Taps.
Tubing sounds fun, but are there other options at Schweitzer on New Year’s?
Yes, Schweitzer hosts FOUR New Year’s celebrations each year. We have a Tween party for kids ages 6-11, the tubing party of course, a 21+ party in Taps, and a midnight sparkler celebration for EVERYONE! Tickets are required for all but the midnight sparkler celebration so be sure to hurry and buy them before they sell out.
What is your refund policy?
Sorry, there are no refunds. This is a sellout party every year and we’d hate to have any spots go unused with all the folks we turn away each year. Space is limited, so hurry and buy your tickets today!
Is there lodging nearby?
Yes, the Selkirk Lodge offers lodging right in Schweitzer village. But don’t dilly dally……lodging sells out every year! You can get more information and book a room at www.schweitzer.com
