Event description

Description

The School of Public Affairs at Penn State Harrisburg is excited to present SPA Student Research Day hosted by SPA Graduate Assistants! This day-long event is open to the campus community, as well as the public.

The morning will consist of various workshops on what makes a research poster visually appealing, what skills to utilize when presenting your poster and how to develop a research proposal and disseminate the results.

In collaboration with the Office of Research and Outreach Seminar Series, a luncheon presentation by Dr. Jonathan Lee, “Quantitative Approaches to Understanding Criminal Behavior,” will cover understanding criminal behavior to predict and prevent crimes.

In the afternoon, a research panel will be conducted by the School of Public Affairs Ph.D. students, discussing previous and current student research. The day will end with conference style student poster presentations and awards. Student poster presentations are open to undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D level students. Please reserve your spot as ‘Poster Presenter’ to present your poster as limited spaces are available! Please limit poster size to no more than 48"x36".

Judging will take place during poster presentations, with awards and final remarks by Dr. Siedschlag to end a research packed event!
