Need to make the case for attendance?

You know all the great reasons to attend the School Garden Summit. But does your principal or supervisor understand why they should authorize the travel, underwrite the related costs and encourage your participation?

Here are a few reasons to attend the School Garden Summit 2018:

  • A Summit focus on Inquiry-Based Education, which will include a keynote address by Tiffany Poirier, a.k.a. the Inquiry Ninja, a copy of the Question Toolbox e-book, a break-out session by Tiffany, educator-led sharing sessions on the topic. This will equip you with practical strategies to implement in your classroom.
  • Access ready-to-use resources at the Summit that you can bring back to your school and use immediately
  • 16+ education sessions by local and national experts on topics such as garden-based education, nutrition and food-literacy education, practical garden tips, horticulture therapy, connecting garden and environmental education to curriculum, how to engage the community, best practices for nature-based education and more!
  • 15+ educator-led sharing sessions to illuminate the work happening across the province, and learn from successes and challenges
  • Network building opportunities with educators from across the province through discussions, sessions and networking breaks
  • When you return, you’ll bring a fresh energy and an excitement to your work. You'll influence your colleagues with great ideas and boost the educational experience of your students. Your excitement will come from all the personal interactions, the ideas, the creativity, the enthusiasm, and the expertise you encountered from the educators in attendance.

If your principal needs more persuading, customize this "Dear Principal" letter that acknowledges tight budgets and emphasizes the School Garden Summit as a fantastic return on investment.
