Event description
Hear from the hosts of the incredible new podcast School Colors, Max Freedman and Mark Winston-Griffith.

About this Event

"School Colors" is a narrative podcast from Brooklyn Deep about how race, class, and power shape American cities and schools. They follow generations of parents and educators fighting for their children and their community in a rapidly changing Black neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York.

Join us for the monthly meeting of the Alliance for School Integration and Desegregation (nycASID) as we hear from the creators of "School Colors," Max Freedman and Mark Winston-Griffith. Natasha Capers, Brooklyn native and leader of the NYC Coalition for Educational Justice, will moderate the event. After we hear from Max, Mark, and Natasha, we will break up into workgroups for community members interested in taking action to tackle school segregation across New York City.

This event is co-sponsored by the Community Education Councils of Districts 13 and 16, both of which represent Bedford-Stuyvesant.
