Intense original music to scare the children and soothe the stormy mind. Scatterjazz presents good music in New Orleans. The venues may change, but it’s still all about improvised music, free jazz, and crazy freaky weird stuff.
Will Bernard is a guitarist and band leader. He has led the Will Bernard Band, Will Bernard Trio, Will Bernard 4-tet, and Motherbug.
Born and bred in New Orleans, Johnny Vidacovich has the city's unique, syncopated backbeat running in his veins. Many outsiders have sought to imitate that sound which comes so naturally to those who grew up exposed to the Big Easy's street music traditions. One can hear the beat of the street in multifarious places, from the music of the Mardi Gras Indians to the Neville Brothers to Vidacovich himself. He is the quintessential New Orleans jazz drummer, with all the exuberance and skill befitting one who grew up in the birthplace of jazz.
After 15 years on the Atlanta music scene, bassist Kevin Scott is expanding his musical and geographic reach. In the last year, he has toured and recorded with Jimmy Herring and John McLaughlin’s “Meeting of the Spirits,” Wayne Krantz, FORQ, Donny McCaslin, and Wednesday Night Titans. Kevin’s creative spirit and instinctual, groove-driven playing have made him a must-have on many exciting and unique projects.
