Event description

Description

All public, private, and home school students are invited to attend the 13th Annual Missions Fest Seattle Friday Field Trip occurring from 10am to 2pm on October 19, 2018. The format is a mini missions conference suitable for students from the 4th grade to 12th grade. General sessions and half hour workshops will educate and inform students of different mission opportunities. Malawi native Jonathan Mvula, a graduate of the Children of the Nations University/Vocational program, will be sharing his story of being rescued, raised, and launched. Opening session keynote speaker is Gabe Murfitt with Youth Missions International. Registration is required.

The focus this year will be on the Biblical concept of SCATTER, which God has used since the early days of the Bible. In past years attendance at the Friday Field Trip has been between 400-600 students. This year we expect to have a much greater attendance from the home schoolers, and are planning for well over 600 students. We will be encouraging exhibitors to set up by 10 AM so students will be able to interview or interact with real live missionaries. It is quite heartwarming to see young people walking around with their clipboards interviewing missionaries.

There will be seminars & workshops during the day as well as a lunch time. Each student is to bring their own sack lunch. We will be providing the titles, and a short description of the content for each seminar or workshop, so you will be able to select the ones of greatest interest to your class. The workshop registration will be on a first come first served basis since the number of seats in each room is limited. Thus send in an indication of your interest for next October's Friday Field Trip to secure a place for your students.

This year we will be requesting a greater adult/student ratio (we are planning on 1 adult for every 6 students) if that is workable for the teachers. The students from each class will need to stay together as a group.

Please consider registering your class before this school year is completed to secure a place for your students.
