Scandi Night at BoConcept
People have finally caught on that there may be a secret as to why Denmark has been voted the world’s happiest nation for the past 5 years. A famously secular and liberal society, Danes have long been known to achieve an ominous work-life balance that contributes hugely to their overall happiness as a nation.
But there is something else, easily and quickly within reach, that we can all embrace to start living more Danishly – Hygge (Hue-gah). Hygge is about living and living well, finding the time to enjoy life as it is.
Visit Denmark says, “In essence, hygge means creating a nice, warm atmosphere and enjoying the good things in life with good people around you. The warm glow of candlelight is hygge. Friends and family – that’s hygge too. And let’s not forget the eating and drinking – preferably sitting around the table for hours on end discussing the big and small things in life.
This winter, it’s time you started getting hygge at home and we’re going to show you how.
We’ve got Helen Russell, best selling author and ex-Marie Claire editor, turned Dane and Morten Georgsen, one of Scandinavia and Denmark’s most famous contemporary furniture on hand to share tips and tricks on how to bring hygee into the home.
