Smooth Scaling: Solutions to the Unique Challenges Facing Female Entrepreneurs
In this masterclass, business development expert and angel investor Alexandra Stanton, will share the expertise that has allowed numerous businesses of all sizes and types to scale and live up to their potential. As the founder of a double-bottom line company, she possesses a deep understanding of the unique issues that women founders face. Aimed at mid-level entrepreneurs, you will learn about best hiring practices and how to raise capital and approach funders, as well as when to outsource, trimming the fat, how to think about new sectors and markets, and more topics to help your company expand and thrive.
About the speaker:
Alexandra Stanton is the CEO of Empire Global Ventures, a firm she co-founded to help businesses by identifying and closing revenue-generating deals. EGV helps companies scale to the next level, whether this means assisting a British cyber-security firm break into the US market and achieve eight figures of revenue through mapping out a growth strategy and strategic vision, or helping a female led tech company acquire clients who are traditional white glove Fortune 500 firms, Stanton’s skills lie in identifying opportunities, connecting the right players and closing deals.
Other areas in which Stanton excels are in identifying venture funding and working capital for clients, creating strategic partnerships for joint ventures domestically and abroad, project management, and public private partnerships. The latter draws from her experience at Empire State Development Corporation, New York State’s economic development agency that spends over $ 1 billion annually and drives the engine of economic growth for New York State.
In 2013, Stanton was appointed by President Barack Obama to the Board of Trustees of The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. She is currently leading its $200 million expansion. Stanton also serves on the New York State Tourism Advisory Council, as the Vice President of Doctors of the World USA, and as the President of the Board of the Parrish Art Museum in Watermill, New York.
Stanton graduated with a B.A. from Cornell University and received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. A member of the New York Bar, she is fluent in French. She lives in NYC with her husband and two children.
