Description

This April, the Student Conservation Association (SCA) is hosting 60 projects for Earth Day in honor of 60 years of SCA!

With national support from Southwest Airlines and American Express, we are aiming to connect our members, alumni, friends, and partners across the country to create a nationwide network of Earth Month celebrations.

In Greenbelt, volunteers will participate in the annual Potomac River Watershed Cleanup. Join us to ConSERVE this local green space and preserve its natural beauty for future generations to enjoy!

WHEN: Saturday, April 14th, 8:45 am - 12:00 pm

WHERE: Greenbelt Park, 6565 Greenbelt Road, Greenbelt, MD 20770.

The site is accessible by the Greenbelt Metro stop (Green/Yellow lines). Registration and kick-off will take place at the Sweetgum Parking Area. As you enter the park, the U.S. Park Police building will be on your immediate right. Drive further and you will pass the maintenance yard on your left. Keep driving until you hit a stop sign. Take a right turn and then take the first left into the Sweetgum parking lot.

WHAT: Volunteers will remove trash and debris from the Potomac River Watershed within Greenbelt Park.

BRING WITH YOU: Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes and bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated. The event will take place rain or shine so please dress for the weather!

PROVIDED: All project materials, tools, and gloves will be provided. Volunteers will also receive SCA ConSERVE t-shirts.

QUESTIONS: Contact SCA Events Manager Ann Pedtke at apedtke@thesca.org or 724-678-9401.
