Event description

Description

This is not your typical programming course. You will not learn how to make any form of a GUI, so everything we do will be text-based. This course is for those who want to explore programming as a tool for problem-solving more in-depth.
You will learn the fundamentals of searching and sorting, recursion, lambda calculus, OOP and more. This course will be taught with the Java programming language which is very OOP oriented, so you will learn the basics of hierarchies, classes, interfaces and abstraction.
At the end of this course, you will have a solid understanding not only of Java, but programming principles that apply to all programming languages. Learning a new programming language afterwards will take you no time at all.
Due to the large amount of material we have to cover, this course will last the whole school year. The only prerequisite knowledge you need to have is a basic understanding of linear and quadratic functions.

Student teaching course: Simon Borkovec. Contact him at: borkovec.csprinciples@gmail.com.
