SBIR/STTR 101: Introduction and Overview

Hosted By: aMDI - applied Medical Device Institute and Padnos College of Engineering and Computing of Grand Valley State University

Sponsored By: Marian, Inc.

Presenter: Kris Bergman, Managing Partner, BBCetc

The government’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs make over $2.6 billion in high-risk, non-dilutive capital available to innovative small companies annually. In this half-day class, attendees learn SBIR/STTR program basics, including program purpose, eligibility, sources of funding and tools for proposal development. The class provides enough information for attendees to determine if they would like to seriously pursue a grant or contract proposal.

Training will be held in room 119, Hagar Auditorium at the Cook-DeVos Center for Health Sciences building at Grand Valley State University. Parking is FREE for all who register and is available in the Prospect Lot located on the east side of the building (directions).

There is no cost to attend this event. Lunch will be included.

The session is provided by BBCetc and the Michigan SBIR/STTR Assistance Program.

MEDC_Logo_smallFunds for this initiative were provided by the 21st Century Jobs Fund, a MSF program designed to accelerate the growth and diversification of Michigan’s economy.
