“Saying No to Statins: Dropping Cholesterol and Inflammation with Diet” with Kirk Hamilton PA-C
Friday, September 6, 2013 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM (PDT)
Lecture and Knowledge Class open to all ages
While there is debate about whether cholesterol is a major cause of hardening of the arteries or just a “bystander” that goes along with the disease, there is little debate that a whole food, unprocessed, plant based diet can not only lower cholesterol dramatically but also can “reverse” heart disease...Just ask Bill Clinton! This presentation will show you where cholesterol plays a role in the heart disease process, discuss the important of inflammation, and why it always better to lower your cholesterol with diet if possible versus a drug. You will also learn how to protect yourself from side effects of cholesterol lowering medicines if you have to use them. Nutrients that lower cholesterol will also be discussed. Kirk will demonstrate his “Drop like a rock” cholesterol lowering oatmeal; super antioxidant, cholesterol lowering smoothie; and a tomato, oat bran, bean dip with fiber loaded rye krisps. You will also receive a copy of Kirk’s book “Staying Healthy in the Fast Lane” whose theme is the prevention and reversal of age-related (chronic) diseases, such as diabetes, by the use of a low allergy, anti-inflammatory, unprocessed plant-based diets.
